How much do I need?

If unsure about the size of your lawn, general guidelines are that a typical 1/4 acre lot with home, driveway, walkway and landscaping requires a 5,000 sq. ft bag. A 1/2 acre lot with a home and landscaping features typically requires a 10,000 sq. ft bag. For larger properties from 1 to 2 acres or more, you will need to estimate the amount of additional grass area and include these in your coverage calculation..

  • Description

The best spring fertilizer choice for crabgrass control.

    • Prevents crabgrass and other grass and broadleaf weeds (as listed on label) up to 4 months, when applied prior to germination in lawns. It also provides post-emergence control of seedling crabgrass for up to 4 weeks after it germinates.
    • Extended time release feeding of nitrogen greens into summer without excess growth.
    • Crabgrass is an annual weed, meaning it reproduces by seed and it must be treated each spring. If you keep crabgrass seeds from germinating, you keep crabgrass from growing. Therefore, annual application is recommended to established lawns to keep crabgrass under control.
    • Knowing when to apply crabgrass preventer is one of the keys to success in ridding lawns of this pesky weed. Crabgrass seeds begin to germinate when the soil temperature consistently reaches 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. For nature’s visual cue - this coincides approximately with blooming of forsythia and lilac bushes. Since most pre-emergent crabgrass preventers kill crabgrass only before the seedlings emerge, this gives homeowners a tiny window of opportunity. With the GreenView Fairway Formula formulation – you’ll have an additional 4 weeks to get it down, and still be effective.

  • Application Tips

    Best time to apply:

    Apply in spring.

For best performance; apply within a few days of mowing. The most effective weed control occurs when the product is activated by rainfall or irrigation, so if rain isn’t in the forecast, water it in thoroughly.

Can be applied to the following turfgrasses when used as directed:

Cool Season Turfgrasses: Creeping Bentgrass, Fine fescues, Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, Tall Fescues. Warm Season Turfgrasses: Bahiagrass, Bermudagrass, Buffalograss, Carpetgrass, Centipedegrass, St. Augustine grass, Zoysiagrass.

For post-emergent crabgrass control, apply when crabgrass is small (3-4 leaf). It will not control large tillered crabgrass.
