Best time to apply:
The best time to seed your lawn is in the fall. The days are cooler and the ground moisture is ideal for seeds to germinate and for roots to become established. You can also seed in the Spring, but it will take more watering to build roots that can weather hot summer months.

Better than I thought
I had just purchased my home in New Jersey In March 2015. As you can see on the photos it was a completely struggling lawn. I wanted to stray away from local hardware stores like Home Depot for purchasing seed. A lot of people use scotts brand seed and their step programs with great beginning results and detrimental ending results. My neighbor told me it would be a miracle if I could get grass to go and the bell rang. I spent a total of about $200 on seed, fertalizer, and starting fertalizer. My soil is not quite adequate but I said I'll give it a shot. I purchased the 5 lb'er and started in a small area. Seeing the results I was amazed. 7 day germination and there was my seedling. This was my first attempt at seeding a lawn ever let alone growing grass. As it continued to grow my 5lb bag went out quickl as I wanted to begin to seed more. I'd say late April I had started. So from April 20th 2015 - June 9th 2015 this is my current progress. please don't mind the red garage door I may have left it open when I was painting and realized after it was closed XD. In conclusion my neighbor who said it would be a miracle to grow grass, has asked me where to purchase seed. It isn't adequate to seed in the summer but I am impatient and wanted some results!
