Rated 3 out of 5 by from Limited success. Used the GreenView Fairway Tall Fescue to patch bare spots and to overseed my lawn. After a month, there has only been limited success. May require a second application, weather permitting. I'm in growing zone 6 with a mostly shaded lawn. Spring planting came late here due to early storms that left everything muddy and soggy and freezing temperatures at night. Several weeks now after sowing grass seeds I was hoping for much more coverage but the new growth is patchy at best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the seed I am so happy with the fescue because it is a shade mix which is perfect for my yard. Germination has been a bit slow, as the picture indicates, but in Minnesota and weather has been variable. The seed is incredibly pure, so lots of seed in a bag. Love that this is not a water heavy graminoid like bluegrass and hope more people turn to this as it helps conserve water. My only thought for the company would be to show a picture on the bag of how thick to sow as the bag says not to put down too thick but yet people want it thick enough to cover. Excited to watch it come in thicker and take pride in seeding low water use plants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what we needed! We were very excited to try Greenview’s Fairway formula in order to get our grass growing this season! We were a little disappointed because in April we had a couple of weeks of fair weather and thought that we were done with winter. We proceeded to spread the seed over our lawn to get our grass growing and a couple of days later we got about five inches of snow. We waited a couple of weeks which brought us to the beginning of May and put down some more seed. We were pleased to start seeing the results after about a week and a half. The grass is starting to grown in, some parts more than others. The deer are already coming by to graze. We live in Pennsylvania and it is unseasonably cold here this year considering it is May, so we weren’t off to the best start. We will be putting down more seed and look forward to better results being that it is starting to get a little warmer. So far so good!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast growing I have an area in my yard where year after year it has been a struggle to keep grass. The area is super shady with minimal sun so area stays moist longer than rest of the yard. We put down the dense shade mixture and within a week grass was growing and now a month later the grass there is very green and about 4” tall. Hope this grass continues to grow and flourish in this area and remains through the heat of summer, only time will tell! Given my experience to date I recommend if you a shady moist area in your yard you try this seed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great grass growth Takes a few weeks, but comes in thick and really green. I have several bald spots in yard under trees, so shady and hard to grow grass, this works great. Loosen soul, put in seed, water and grows really well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spring Seeding Results I put this seed down in bare spots that have been problematic for several years. They are fairly shady areas. The water has been moderate as the rainy spring season is upon us. After a month time, it is still rather difficult to grow grass in these areas. The seed was introduced to the areas then covered with dirt. As can be seen from the photos, more time and care is still needed to get this to grow and to sustain it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The grass is growing! I planted this Greenview Fairway Formula grass seed a little over two weeks ago. I have a low shady area by a planting bed that never can maintain grass. I decided to try this shady mix and so far I am really impressed. Grass is growing! It’s even growing after the area flooded and I was sure all the seed had washed away. The pictures tell the tale with before, after planting and growing grass pictures. I will let it grow another 2-3 weeks before I mow it but I am fully anticipating all my bare areas to be gone by June.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great! Our back yard is very patchy because it gets almost no sun. This grass seed worked wonders! I wanted a turf style because our kids play in the back yard a lot, and the thickness of it works well with kids. The grass took a little while to grow, which was expected, but it looks spectacular!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn’t work I planted this grass seed a few weeks ago, followed all instructions, and got absolutely no growth. Very disappointed. I do still have some of the bag left, so I will try again. Maybe I’ll have better luck the second time around. Directions are easy to follow, so hopefully it was just a fluke.
