Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great seed I got this seed to use in a couple areas in the backyard that while we could never get the grass to grow in the shade beneath the trees at the edge of our property. We tried this GreenView mixture for Dense Shade and it did the trick. It has filled nicely in, looks good and blends in nicely with surrounding grass. Great quality seed for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of Coverage in One Bag I like the features of this grass seed. The lack of filler gives me a lot more coverage. I was able to spread seeds to an area approximately 5 yards by 1 yard. It was nice that they had instructions on the back of the bag that are easy to read and follow. I was surprised that the birds and squirrels left it alone, at least every time I looked out the window. It got windy a few hours after I had sowed the seeds, and we have had several rains and storm systems come through since as well, but the seed has not blown away. It looks like I am getting some early growth from some of the seeds. I am so excited that I can easily restore the shady lawn area under a huge tree.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a Fan I put this grass seed down a little over 3 1/2 weeks ago now, covered with straw and watered and there still isn't anything sprouting. I am pretty disappointed since the bags states that the grass will begin to sprout in as little as 7-14 days. In my opinion, save your money and go with another option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grows great grass in dense shade Excellent grass seed that grows well in dense shade. I have a very shady area in the backyard and the grass there is very patchy. I followed directions on back of bag and seed sprouted into nice green grass! Can't wait to see how it does through the summer season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shade Grass We ordered these seeds to help get grass growing on a hill under some big oak trees. These patches have been impossible to grow anything on due to the lack of sunlight. Regular grass seed does absolutely fine on every part of the yard except here. Hopefully this blend of seed will hold up over time. The mix includes: 38.5% Fairmont Chewing Fescue, 20.01% Exacta II GLSR Perenial Ryegrass, 20% Man O'war Perennial Ryegrass, 10% Chorus Creeping Red Fescue, and 10% Sword Hard Get with 0% weeds and 1% inhert ingredients

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did great in my shaded lawn I got this Dense Shade mix and it did a great job filling in the areas shaded by my trees. I prepped the soild and spread the seed and watered it a bit every day. It looks great and filled in the bare dirt areas in the shade of my trees.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slow growing so far I have a tree down at the bottom of my driveway where I have had trouble with grass growing and in the winter plows tearing it up . I cleaned and raked the area, mixed in some compost to the soil, seeded it, and raked in some fresh top soil on top. I took a picture to track the progress. I watered regularly but didnt see much growth. It has been over 2 weeks and there is some new growth but not what I expected. I live in the northeast and realize that the weather may be playing a factor in it. I plan on giving it another week before I add more seed and soil to the area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for lowlight area I'm glad I found this product. I have multiple spots in my yard that get little and no sunlight, and turn to dirt and mud throughout the year. This seed is perfect for those spots. Make sure you follow the instructions, and work up the ground or it will not grow.
