Lawn Plan member’s yard lives up to city’s “emerald” nickname

We’re bringing you our latest landscaping success story from the “Emerald City,” scenic Eugene, Oregon. Eugene is tucked into the Willamette Valley between the breathtaking scenery of the Cascade Mountains and the impressive Oregon Coast Range.

Eight years ago, when Monte and his family moved in, his lawn was primarily sod, hastily planted on a foundation of deficient soil, which lacked the required nutrition to grow the normal Eugene “emerald” green. It was an uphill battle to keep the lawn healthy and attractive. So, Monte took the situation in hand and decided to try the Greenview Annual Lawn Plan, whose easy application schedule promised to give him maximum results with minimum work.

Monte battled excessive weeds. Across the street from his home, a city park is planned. But in the meantime, the vacant land produces a wide variety of weeds and dandelions that germinate in his lawn. He is also near a pasture, which sends grassy weed seeds his way.

After becoming a Greenview Annual Lawn Plan member, Monte proudly explained: “Our lawn looked great and our neighbors commented regularly on how green our grass looked and how healthy our lawn appeared.” Neighbors inquired about his “secret,” and he told them about the Lawn Plan.

Monte also likes how Greenview takes all of the guesswork out of what treatments to put on the lawn and when. He admits that he doesn’t have a “green thumb,” so simplicity is very important to him. About two months after the first application, Monte was amazed at the results: “It worked!” he remarked to neighbors.

Now, when Monte needs help with a fertilizer, soil, or any lawn or garden question, he asks the experts at Greenview. “What impressed me most was the depth of their knowledge about our local conditions. Our soil here can be either very rocky or contain a huge amount of clay, that doesn’t always make planting shrubs or caring for our yard that easy.”

Recently, Monte experienced the true value of the Greenview products and services when he bought some fertilizer at a local garden outlet, and saw the quality of his lawn suffer as a result. So, Monte is back on the Annual Lawn Plan program for what he says is the obvious reason: “We want our lawn to look the way it used to.”

Thanks, Monte, and welcome back!
